Niuć is one of BIH’s largest family wineries with 35ha (+20 ha from other partner growers) and can produce up to 770,000 litres in their state-of-the art winery where all stages of the process can be monitored live via a mobile app.
70% of their wines are red and all grapes are hand-harvested and hand-sorted and destemmed before fermentation.
They are also the only producer in BIH to have planted Grk, a rare grape native to neighbouring Croatia.
Vlatko Nuić is a 3rd generation winemaker who graduated in 2023 Vienna with a Masters in oenology and has joined the family vineyard.
2023 was his 3rd harvest and the first wine he introduced was a blanc de noir from the native Blatina grape.
His father (a shoemaker by training and car sales as a full time profession), was responsible for reviving the native Trnjak grape, with the first mono-varietal vintage of 2004. There are now over 25 producers and an annual Trnjak festival since 2023.
