Domaine Le Roc is an organic, family owned winery that was one of the original few to make wine from the rare indigenous Bouysselet grape.
A true family winery taken over by Jean-Luc in 1981, his brother Frédéric & wife Cathy joining in 1988 followed by Pierre in 1995.
It is now passing over to the new generation: Fréd & Cathy’s daughter Anne and nephew Grégoire.
The initial focus of the winery was on the indigenous red grape Négrette (Jean-Luc’s focus), followed by Syrah (Frédéric’s pride).
As President of the Fronton AOC, Frédéric is working to have Bouysselet recognised as an official Fronton grape.
This would see not only the first white wines under the Fronton AOC, but one with a local indigenous grape.
The team consists of:
Jean-Luc & Grégoire : viticulture.
Frédéric & Anne : winemaking.
Cathy : sales & admin.
They are also joined by a team of 50 sheep that help manage the grass between the vines (cutting and fertilising)
