Giacomo Boveri

Giacomo Boveri trained as a telecommunications expert, and in 1988 decided to dedicate himself to managing the family farm rather than taking a safe job in the public sector or large organisation.

His aim was to increasing the size if the farm and improve the quality of the winemaking, ensuring it was reflective of the region, which lead to his investment in the local grapes Timorasso and Croatina.

He is the 5th generation of winemakers in his family.

In 2010, Sara Bonadeo left her profession as a lawyer to join her husband Giacomo in the winery, and leads the commercial operations.

What makes Giacomo’s range interesting is that you have the chance to taste 3 very different terroir with different soil types and exposition, all situated at 300m altitude.

Giacomo produces 4 labels of Timorasso: 1 Piccolo & 3 single vineyard crus.

  • Piccolo Derthona – early harvest from all 3 vineyards. A simple, fresh aperatif wine.
  • Muntà – a single vineyard cry from clay soils
  • Lacrime del Bricco – a single vineyard cry from calcareous soils
  • Piazzera – a single vineyard cru from clay & sandy soils

All the single vineyard Timorasso are aged in stainless steel for 18 months on lees, although the Piazzera 2019 ended up being aged for 30 months (due to covid) resulting in a richer wine.
