Battegazzore

Bruno Battegazzore is a qualified and practicing architect, while at the same time reviving his grandfather’s vineyard in 2016 with his wife Elisa.

A tiny producer with around 1- 1.5 Ha of Timorasso (out of 2 Ha total including Barbera), producing under 4,000 bottles of Timorasso per year.

Bruno’s wines hold a special place in my love of Timorasso as it is the first Timorasso I had on my first visit to the region at Osteria La Rava e La Fava.

Battegazzore produce 2 Timorasso:

  • Derthona : Timorasso from across the the vineyards. Produced since 2016.
  • Derthona Maggiora : a single vineyard cru (since 2017) grown on higher ground with warmer temperatures.

Their wider range includes:

  • Monleale : a Barbera first produced in 2018.
